    Remote oil tank strainer/filter?

Getting set to do some maintenance on my 04 225HO - the usual suspects (tuner, fuel filter, plugs, etc) but this time around since they have never been done I figure I might change the plug wires, inline oil filter and the oil strainer/filter in the remote tank.

I've been able to find all the stuff I need online with the exception of the in-tank oil strainer - can anyone possibly give me a part number? And/or advice on whether to replace it - no problems with oil delivery, just a preventative measure on my part, figure that after 6 hard years it wouldn't hurt to change it.

On the 04 I wouldn't worry about the wires unless you have one arcing to the block etc.....JMHO

I'm a firm believer in not throwing parts at motors willy nilly and as far as I can tell I don't have any issues with the 04's wires - a few weeks ago I would have agreed wholeheartedly with you, no need to change them.

However, I just replaced the plug wires on my chevy after 50K (got a tremendously good deal on them) and found a noticeable improvement in idle quality and throttle response even though I could find no corrosion, cracks, holes, resistance problems etc with the old ones at all - I have no idea why the new ones (same part number) have improved things. With that experience I figure I'll put some new ones on, at $37 or so it won't kill me and it probably won't hurt as hostile as our hot salty swamp is here in SE Louisiana!

    Thanks for your input.
