    98 225 vindicator

Just bought a gambler with a 98 rude 225 vindicator on the back. Anything specific I should know about this motor? Any maintenance issues to look at over the winter?

Also I'm assuming xd50 would be my oil of choice, but want to make sure.

    Thanks!

I think the 98 had the new style drain plugs, easy to check just pull one out of the bowl and see if it has a tit on it to keep the hi speed orifice from backing out. I'm not sure but ChampMan will know if the #2 carb was fattened from the factory or if any mods were done to the block.

It wasn't fat from the factory, but will have the new style drain plugs... increase hs jet size on #2 by 2 sizes and let her eat@!

Is upgrading 2 sizes a perf mod, or more a PM thing? If its strictly for performance I'll hold off till I think I need more from the motor.

Anything else I should know about this motor? Also was that a yes on the xd50?

It is to have your motor live a longer life. It is a cooling mod to keep the #2 piston cool by using more fuel.
