motor been acting up lately at wide open throttle if I take throttle control and try to back down by say 20 percent it starts to slow then picks back up to where it was at wot.

Take a fuel sample and check for water in the system first.
I do run a can of seafoam in each tank.
Check the carb bowls for leaks, if they are wet they are leaking.
