Questions bout the new 200!

Can you get a 200 with tilt steering and middle seat from the factory??
Sure would be a bad boy with a sport 225 XS hung off the back to do some skinnin

Those are two different motors.

The XS is a small block, high revving, screamer that is great on very light boats. It lacks low end torque to push the heavier boats like a 200 XL.

The ProXS is a big block, DFI motor that performs very well on a 200 XL.

Yeah, I like the way the sound, they scream! I did not know that they were small blocks. You got a good point, I recon thats why those yammys work so good on the 200 and 201's

Both 225's are 3.0 liter engines the "sport xs' just has a sportmaster lower with 1.62 gears on it.

Which years you talking about Jeff? I was thinking the true 225XS was a smaller block. I stand corrected.

cowtrimmer is right the SportXS and the ProXS are both 3.0 Liter engines. The SportXS comes from the racing division with a Sportmaster lower unit with 1.62:1 gears. The ProXS is the production model and comes with a Torquemaster lower unit with 1.75:1 gears. I think the ProXS will work a lot better with the Torquemaster and 1.75 gears on a Stratos.

Maybe I'm thinking about the 225 X. Was that a small block? I know the 2.5 (or 280 I guess), is that the same block the 225 X is, or am I just imagining there is such a thing as a 225 X?

There was a 225x, and the 225 Sport xs replaced it.

Yep and the 225 Sport xs is the the replacement for both. The 2.5 xs lasted what, a year or so. The 2.5 motors were good on the lighter hulls.

The ProXS will be better on a heavy boat like a Stratos. The Sport XS is for a light boat.
