i relize that ever hull and motor will have a different setup.. but i was hopeing maybe 1 of you all had a 201 pro XL w/ a 200 evinrude XP that was dialed in just right to see how close i was.. i just dont feel like im gettin the top end i should be..
depending on your jack plate height and load most older stratos's dpnt get the 70+ mph that the new models do. a good for a model like yours is 60 to 65 mph loaded.
Mario, I have a 1990 201 DC w/200 Rude XP running a 25p Renegade and 6 in. plate. Prop shaft around 3.5in below pad and run in the low 60's. Seems to be about normal for these boats. Not very fast but great when the water gets rough.

I have a 91' 201 SC Pro with 200XP running @ 3.5" with 27 Shooter(POS) turning 5200 rpm's loaded getting 62. My prop sucks but I still catch fishI have a 25 trophy I want to slap on her to get the R's up. Ideally low to mid 60's what I think most are getting. With a 200 they are not speed merchants by any means but when she gets real rough that is when you get your moneys worth

Kerry..What kind of water pressure do you have at wot?
dont know what Kerry is getting but mine gets @ wot almost 30 psi ( no jackplate) and about 63-64 mph loaded 56-5700 rpms
Only 16lbs @WOT here..I'm running @3 1/2" below the pad, but I was cautioned by Rusty63 to only run up to 5400 RPM's on the old 91 rude 200xp. The 27 pitch shooter isn't helping much..seen teaspoons with more cup..need a 25 Gade!
About 14psi WOT, but from the Rude Mods, that is about expected from the older OMC machines.

I have a 93 201 with a 200 XP , @ wot 68.7 gps 6000rpm with a light load. Tourny load around 66 mph. I am running a cmc hydraulic plate with a 25 Renegade. I tried a 26 Raker , picked up 1 - 2 mph , but hole shot was horrible.

I think the water pressure is lower on the xp models than the venoms which mine is also Champ is the rebuilder of mine and he said not over 5500 maybe 5600 but no more in fact I am looking for a bigger wheel to spin like a 25-27 to keep my rpms down. I am running a 24x14.5 raker and it wants to spin into the 6000 range with a full load have to watch my foot all the time.
I THOUGHT MY TACH WAS OFF , I HAD MY DEALER CHECK AND THEY SAID ALL WAS GOOD!!! I DROPPED A FEW HUNDRED RPM'S WITH THE 26 RAKER , BUT IT WAS A HANDFULL TO DRIVE. MY DEALER TOLD ME 6000 TO 6100 WAS OK ON THE OLD XP'S. NO MATTER WHERE THE JACKPLATE IS THE RPM'S SELDOM CHANGES. MY WATER PRESSURE GUAGE IS USUALLY BURIED AT WOT (30PSI) THE 26 GAVE ME ALITTLE MORE LIFT , BUT WAS A TURD OUT OF THE HOLE, ESPECIALLY WITH A FULL LOAD AND THE LIVEWELLS FULL (OF WATER USUALLY). THE 25 RENEGADE GIVES ME AN ALL AROUND GOOD RIDE. I HAVE VERY LITTLE TORQUE ON THE WHEEL AND NOT MUCH CHINE WALK. THE 26 , YOU WERE UP ON THE WHEEL CONSTANTLY!!!!!!!

Kerry..I have ask Mark earlier if He could re-configure my 27 shooter into something like a 25 Gade...He said I should throw it away, and buy another prop.
Wonder why you couldn't just re-pitch, and re-cup the old shooter?

58 mph 18 pounds of water pressure 5500 rpm's
1989 20' with a 1992 200 XP full load 64 gps @5600rpm and 15 psi on the water pressure. I was a little concerned about the lower water pressure but I was told the older XPs had low pressure High Volume pumps so I guess thats about right by all the other post in here.

what kind of prop are you spinning and whats your proshaft to pad numbers??
Kerry...ever thought about venting that 27 shooter so maybe it'd get up quicker?
I'm really thinking bout drilling mine. Maybe someone could shed some light on how to do that??
