How about this Charger guys. Come up to the Great Lakes, and if you run 55+mph in true 2-3'ers, I'll pay for your room and your gas back home. The deal will be you have to run 55+mph for 7 miles. Not spear one, or lose your trolling motor to damage. The wave size will per NOAA measuring.

I'll video it and video me paying your tab, I'll even get you a few beers afterwards. </td></tr></table>

I'd like to see that as well. We had Legend Alpha 211, Ranger Z520, Z21, 518, 392, Stratos 201 and a few others and NO ONE was running 55+ on Erie in the rough stuff. Like I said before I think the Chargers are great boats but 55+ in true 2-3'ers come on??

C'mon up guys. We'll show you some great fishing and worst case scenario, you get knocked around on the big water like the rest of us. But, if your Chargers can tame the Great Lakes, I for one will spread the word and you'll probably sell an awfull lot of boats up here!

Sounds like a deal to me. Then next summer we can return the favor on Lake if the Ozarks. Fishing isn't so great in the heat of the summer but there are other things to SEE and do.

Yeah! Set up a time and meeting place with btsmbass and post it here. We'll drag my buddies Champ 206 up there and have some fun. I'll take you up on that offer to see LOZ next year. From some of the pics posted on this site, looks like a beautiful lake and surrounding area! I'm pullin' for ya man, hope you can do it w/o tearing up your rig!

I don't plan on putting anyone or any boat in danger over pride. But I think some will be pleasantly surprised with what the boat can handle. If I can carve out some time this fall I will try to make a trip up north. Im always game to meet new people and catch some fish.

Don't get me wrong, I don't suggest that anyone put themselves in danger or ruin a boat just to prove a point. Just don't see any Chargers up here and I would like to see what they can do. I've fished the great lakes for 40 yrs. and if it was too rough to try, I'd let you know.

Re: How to tell a 3 ft wave (TOUCH OF CLASS)

It's easy for me to tell a true 3' wave and Iv'e been in Sturgeon Bay and Lake Michigan a few times with a Champ 206 and my Legend 199, when I feel a warm lump in my pants. These places are no joke and when the wind is blowing there are few places to hide,I've seen tm's ripped off, seats broken loose, windscreens blown off and cause stitches, battery straps snap all because guys push there luck or have way to much confidence. One thing about cruiser wakes you know the lake will be crowded every weekend so you can plan your day, when the wind shifts and air temp drops 20 degrees in 2 minutes you better recognize to get close to home.

Re: How to tell a 3 ft wave (NookBandit)

I have one question, how does one rip the Trolling motor off?I have heard this a few times.on here, but in all my 25 years of boating I have never had it come off...
If you look at Tommys pics you can see how deep that v is,it more like a walleye boat than a flat bottom bassboat....you guys need to see these things run in the big waves,my buddy with the puma was riding next to it it ,all you see is a wall of water 12 ft in to the air when it hits a wave.he said I see why it rides so good..all the water is shoved right into the air,not into the bottom of the boat.....I guess this smooth cut into the wave takes alot of the jarring out, you don't get that pounding shock of other bassrigs and some runabouts I have been in...that why these boats are so nose heavy also, keeps the nose planted tight against the water. And if you have ever been in a cat you feel the difference.the cat will lift the bow with very little trim, the charger takes alot of trim....2 different boat designs, made for different types of water....

here is a good pic of a flat bottom boat, now look at Tommys there is 30 inches difference the skeeter has a 12 inch now the charger has a 40 inch

TOC: "I have one question, how does one rip the Trolling motor off?"

    1. Spearing a wave

    2. Pure physics of the object it tends to stay in motion, rips the TM right out the top cap.

This aint no BS: I have seen some real crazy chit on the great lakes.

Best to hide in a harbor than kill yourself.

This body of water has killed many of men on freighters.

A tm on a bass boat is childs play.

Re: How to tell a 3 ft wave (bassin butch)

Well we get that here too,I have talked to many guys about loz and they tell the same stories, guys came in trolling motors ripped off, john lost his dog,and frank.lost his wife,he never turned around though. just have never had one come over the bow, unless I was fishing and a wall of water hits us.....but here is one thing if the waves are 4 to 12 ft high .I ain't going, call me stupid but it just is not worth it...I would think a 6 ft waves would just be too much for.any boat other than a 50 ft ocean vessel.
