    Nw Kayak

Hey all, I am selling this Kayak http://swv.craigslist.org/boa/2513391651.html and looking to buy a Wilderness Systems Ride 135 or a Jackson Coosa...(I'm torn on the issue) maybe another model or 2 would be a consideration. If you or you know anyone looking to buy or sell let me know.....Thanks...Max

If you fish mostly lakes and big water, you don't want the coosa, it gets blown around in the wind too much.

Is that because of the high seat? Is that corrected by using the low seat position when your in windy conditions? I Kayak fish rivers and small lakes usually....I am still researching ..I do like lot of the Coosa features but not sold on it yet...

It should be ok then. I tried it out on a windy day on a 200 acre lake and had a hard time with it, but it did have the high seat position. I liked the ride a lot better, so I bought one, should be here today or tomorrow fingers crossed. If you can try them both out do it, along with other models too. You might go over to kayakbass.com, its like this place for kayaks.

I have seen it...I wish I could try out the kayaks like that but unfortunately I live in a small (po-dunk) town and there are no dealers here.... I have to go with the advice of others...I do appreciate any advice someone could give... The reasons I like the coosa are 1: lockable hatches that hold rods and tackle 2: High and low seat 3: tackle storage under the seat disadvantages of coosa 1: no rudder 2: nearly the same weight as the ride yet 2 foot shorter 3: no factory installed anchor trolley....

Did I say NO RUDDER!!!!!! NO RUDDER!!!!! ......I really want a rudder

I may buy the ride just so I can have a rudder.....Anchor trolleys are cool too...The chain thing is neat but a trolley can help you change directions and fish the other side... why doesn't jackson get that....

    Re: (maxielures)

Well I got my ride today and its pretty nice. Didn't get the rudder or fishing package because I wanted to set it up how i want it. You might also look at the ocean kayak trident with the rod pod. They are neat features, but it looked like it would be hard to get a 7' rod in and out of it on the water plus it took up a lot of space.

If you are ready to buy, check out austin kayak, they have free shipping till the end of july and wilderness systems has rebates till the end of july.

I'll post pics of mine when i get a chance
