How are the older basscat boats?

Looking at a 1987 basscat. Not sure of model but it says it's 19' with a 150 hanging off the back. I don't see or hear much about the older basscat boats. How are they overall? Thanks

I have a 93 PII and love it, you just have to look for wood rot, biggest culprit area is around the floor drain in front of the seats, use your foot and step around the drain to see if it's soft.

I purchased an 88" PII w/ 200 HP last year from a guy and like it. It doesn't have the storage of the new boats but fishes very well on the lakes we have here in NE. I spent 3 days at LOZ last spring and it handles the big water well. Enjoy it.

I have a 91 PII with a 200 XRI and I love it! The newer ones will have a little more storage but I think it will suit you just fine. Mine does everything I want it to do perfectly. Extrememly well built boats.

Just make sure you check the transom and the floors in it. And especially around the floor drains as this is where water would congregate at and stay wet longer. But this is with any boat with wood in it.

    i have a 1989 PII love mine.
its jsut like all older boats check the transom and around the floor drain for soft spots. the Bass Cats are built pretty damn good so just keep an eye on the normal trouble spots and you should be fine.

I had a 1990 Pantera II and it was a great riding boat and rock solid. I now own a 1994 Erya and it too is impressive.
