    Drip under the steering wheel

Took the Ally out for a spin yesterday and noticed a drip of water from under the steering wheel. Could not find the source. How would water travel up and under the dash? Dripping on my left leg while boat is under power.

the water pressure gauge did quit working yesterday, but the drip was there while it was actually working.

The motor is still streaming water to indicate that the water pump is indeed operating correctly.

Can you guys provide a good link for replacing the PSI gauge?

The drip is probably coming from the speedometer or psi guage tubing. There is a tube running to both of these guages. Lay under your dash and see if the tube has come off, or is cracked, or loose on the back of both of these guages.

I would bet since your psi guage quit working the tube came off the back or is loose and is not holding pressure anymore.

I will check it out, but that does sound like a what happened. The BBC can save the new boat owner a lot of money by asking questions vs taking the boat to the marine shop. Thanks

Are you sure its water? If you have hydralicsteering it could be fluid.

do not have HS. Looked under the dash and the tubing is still in tack. When PSI gauge stopped working the drip went away. Like I had said early the stream is strong but gauge stopped working. Where is the water pick up located?

PSI will come off your block somewhere depending on what motor you have.

Speedo will come from pickup mounted on transom above the pad in that little step up area.

Take the hood off and fire it up while it's in the water, you'll find it.

the pic is the hose that is connected to the block and the water is coming out of the end pictured. I assume the the piece of plastic that is zipped tied to the hose should be insert into another piece of tubing or some where else. There is a piece of tubing on the other side of the block that is free. I will hook the two together today and see where i am from there.

Ok. Yeah that piece should just be inserted into another hose that is laying somewhere in the cowling. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out. If all else fails go to the guage and follow it all the way back.

It's good that you found that, but that's not going to be the source of the drip under your steering wheel.

    Re: (fenwayfear)

Can you remove the tube from the water psi guage? If so, remove and blow air through the line. You should fine out real quick if the other hose is the right one.

Does the other hose at least look the same as what is connected to the guage?
