I am thinking about purchasing a house. About 22 miles, 30-45 minutes with traffc from the office is a community that has houses and a Lake it has a 115 HP limit and 40 mph speed limit.

Would you sell the big motor to boat all the time?

It is a little longer commute than I would like also.

Hell NO. I would buy a small boat to play with. That is what I do now. I currently have 4 boats and counting.

How big is the lake? What are you planning to do with it? Fish? Ski? You told me you don't fish that much and it is crappie when you do. I would get a tracker or something equivilent with a 90 4 stroke Merc. Or something like that.

Might this be Lake St. Louis? Like the others said, just buy a very inexpensive smaller boat to romp around on that lake and keep the Allison to go to the river which is what you will probably do most of the time anyway.

Or put 115 stickers on your cowl and don't go over 40MPH!!

My cousin bought a house there a few years ago. I think he just finished remodeling the entire house. It's beautiful!! Nice little lake too. I thought the club house idea was neat also. Sounds like a neat little community. I thought he would spend more time there but I guess having 2 condo's in the Keys, a gorgeous lake house on Lake of the Ozarks with 3 boats, the cabin/farm outside St. Louis and his gorgeous home in St. Charles he had no time.

He owns Omega Steel in St. Louis. Plus another steel company but I forget the name of that one. He has done real well for himself. He's a couple years younger than me and is semi retired.

Im pretty sure LSL has a 200hp max on boats there..

If it's not a 200HP limit let me know and I'll get my cousin to talk the homeowners association there to change the HP limit on that lake. He's a property owner there and as big a bull chitter as he is he could sell ice to an Eskimo!!
