    BPR 7 Year Warranty

I have an 04 90hp Etec, at the time of purchase, I selected the extended warranty instead of the rebate. Will any authorized Evinrude service provider honor this warranty or only the origional seller? At the end of last season the 90 developed a miss at 4600 rpm and my local dealer could not identify the problem. My dealer is an outstanding seller of boats but has a terrible reputation for service. Also, my dealer did not install the diagnostic lights that my owner's manual says I should have, thus, I can't figure how to run the winterize mode or understand the warning beeps from the control arm. Should I have these lights? Can I run the winterize mode without them? Thanks,

Should you have the 4 lights, Yes. Can it go in winterization mode without them, sure. Just watch the lights on the EMM or wait 15+ seconds in between handle movements. The warranty is good at any Evinrude dealer.

The first thing you want to do it purchase and install the system check guage. Was a tiller kit added to this engine?

    JamesShannon,

I forgot to mention the System Check gauge is a required item for the installer/customer unless it has a tiller arm kit installed.

Thanks guys, no tiller arm installed. This is a bass boat with steering wheel (Xpress 17XLE with 90hp Etec). I bought my last boat first so I am very inexperienced in boat ownership. However, everything my dealer was responsible for has been a problem. Bad news is my dealer is a nightmare, good news I have learned to re-rig most things on my boat. Imagine my surprise when I went to winterize and I could not find the System Check gauge as described in the manual. Should I press this dealer?

Yes I would go back to the dealer. This gauge is a must have. No questions asked.

If you go back to the dealership and have any problems, I would call BRP and talk to their customer service, they may be able to help with dealer problems. Good luck..
