Sir you need a catalyst to cure the mixture of flake and clear, if you put it on thick it wont dry clear through. You have to get a bottle of MEKP, just 5 or 6 drops is all you need for curing. Then you have to cover with saran wrap for 24 hrs. MEKP is found on Amazon.com for $4.62 for 4 OZ.

Call Ranger back and ask for a copy of their instruction pamphlet for repairing gel and polyflake. I assume that they still have some copies laying around. Yes, you do need a catalyst and can get a small tube of MEKP at any auto parts store. Be careful...do not sand the polyflake or it will all turn silver. You can do several thin coats of clear to build it up on the spot and then when you get it level, put scotch tape over the final coat and let it cure. Then, you can wet sand the spot to make it completely smooth and polish it out.
