Question for people who keep their boats outside

    Hey guys,
I have always kept my boat in a garage but due to a move I had to get a detached carport to keep it in. Is there anything that I can put in the boat to keep all the various animals/insects/no shoulders out of it? Happy for the move but a little worried about keeping the boat outside. We are next to a field so Im also worried about mice. Thanks guys!

Wax the pee pee out of it, that'll make em slide down the side. LOL. Try some moth balls in a small burlap or cheese cloth sack. That will help keep the snakes and some critters away. I know you aren't worried about getting the fish smell out of the boat, so we'll save that until next time.

NO moth balls! Those smell like chit!

use Bounce dryer sheets - place a one in every compartment in your boat........they keep the mice and critters out, and smell good too. I've been doing this for years - used to put them in our camper too. Works like a champ.

I built a carport(boatport) 8 years ago and after two boats under it I never had a critter problem. After charging the batteries overnight after every trip I put the cover on it. Mine is next to a field as well. Just keep the grass cut close around the area of the boat. Don't leave any food in the boat and the mice/ants will usually stay away.

Dryer sheets work well at keeping things out.

You can always keep it in my garage Mike. Just be sure to leave the keys in it

its a little easier to keep critters out with a concrete pad...spray for ants around. cheap cover for the boat to keep the cats off, and enough cats to keep ' he who has no shoulders' at bay

I had a frog living in my bilge for about a year. Never could catch it. It was a little fast one
