Really enjoying my time down here this weekend. We are visiting family that is having a big wedding in April. Tyler to be exact. When I come back I really want to do some fishing. Would Lake Fork be my best bet? Can you recommend a good guide?

Lake Tyler fishing has been great.. 21 lbs and over to win most tournaments during the winter. took 36lbs two weeks ago.
For Lake Fork info, the Texas forum is your best bet.![]()

there are several good guides on Fork. Like said before go to texas fishing forum. One would be Marc Pack of Lake Fork Tackle.
Head over to Toledo Bend or Sam Rayburn. There is (was) a great resturant by T-Bend called the Stump. Fitting for that lake.
Not sure of the water level but you have Lake O Pines not far![]()
Fork is literally 30-45 minutes away and is your best bet for a big fish. I have heard Pines is the best lake for wintertime lipless bait fishing and it kicks out some sacks but is VERY low right now. hard to pick a bad lake in East Texas. Also probably home to the nicest people you will ever meet. We love Tyler but will probably end up in Mineola in a couple of years.

I have visited lots of areas and East Texas is the one place I can say feels like home with how friendly everyone is down here.
Marc Mitchell , Jason Hoffman , and Ronnie Kelley are all awesome guides, I've used all 3 and they are great people. You will have a good time with any of them......![]()

I would definitely recommend Jason Hoffaman. He is a great guy to spend the day with on the water. I have been going to Fork for about 8 years, and have fished with Jason multiple times. You won't regret fishing with him.
Tyler is right in the middle of bass fishing paradise. Within an hour, Fork, Quitman, Hollbrook, Tyler, Palestine, Athens, Purtis Creek, Tyler St. Park, Winnesboro, Jacksonville, Gilmer, Nacogdoches, Houston Co., etc. These are most of the ones in the area I've fished and there are many more. Can't go wrong in that area.
