    Johnson Faststrike Timing Question??

I set the timing on my 150 Faststrike, using the OMC Ingnition Analyzer and a Cylmer's book. I set it to spec, but noticed something that raises a question.

The inner lever (for idle timing) in all the way to the rear of the detent block. The CYL light went off just as it clicked on the last detent. The outer (WOT timing) is 4 clicks from the rear of the block.

I also verified the tdc pointer before doing this. Shouldn't the levers be close to the center of the detent block?

I haven't been able to run it yet.

    Thanks,
    Rustyhook

Re: Johnson Faststrike Timing Question?? (Rustyhook)

Rustyhook, I am not sure about where the detents should be,as long asthe light goes out and you have checked the TDC with a stop and adjusted the pointer to 0. My question is where did you get the tool, how much did it cost? I have a 175 fast strike and need this tool. mike
