    Low water pressure 2004 225 3.1 ox66

I have no water pressure at idle and only 5-9 psi at 5500. Warning buzzer comes on if I push it, so I haven't. I have changes the poppit valve, water pump is new housing is new. I just can't fugure it out! Lowered the motor down to see if that would help, tested with the ears on in the driveway. Still no pressure! Anyone have any suggestions.

Better check the water pump again. You may have a gasket or an o-ring that isn’t installed correctly

Pulled the pump again, everything is right. I am getting water to the top of the heads, thermostats are opening. Could I just be paranoid and the gauge isn't working right?

Are you getting these low reading and buzzer before the changes or after? If the pump looks good take another look at the poppit valve. It only takes one grain of sand to have low readings and it will overheat. Stick a garden hose in the hose of the poppit and the block to flush it out.

Change the water pump impeller anyway. I had one that was slipping on the shaft and the mechanic could not believe it. It was ok until 4000 rpm, then would slip.

What kind of boat is this on? Did you recently buy the boat or change something in the set-up? If ya wondering why I asked the boat brand, if it's a Triton it could be nothing wrong at all, just set-up wrong. Tritons and Yamahas are finicky together.

I was having the same problem you are having. I have a 2004 225 HPDI and there was a older style poppit valve in there. My marina changed it to the newer style and that made all the difference. Now I have more pressure then I ever had.
