    Braided line

What is the best reel to use for Braided line?
I have tried braided line but didn't like the way the line burried itself on the other line on the spool so I want to know what is a good reel to use so this won't happen?

I prefer Shimano reels and I only use Powerpro. I like to back the spool with mono, but I mainly do this to conserve the braid. The most important thing is getting the reel setup properly for braid. I use 20lb braid for saltwater which is super thin and I don't have digging problems.

For sure Gun, I use the 50lb and only put about 50 yards of line. The only things I use the big nasty braid for are frogging and flippin', neither technique require much line

I ONLY use 65 because the only time I use braid is THICK cover and HEAVY grass . I dont respool a hole lot , just peel some off when the end starts gettin a lil old .

Just to put my 2 cents in... round braid is a must, the reel brand doesn't matter but a low speed reel thends to have digging problems more than high speed due to the line spools closer together on the spool per revolution...

Buy some Daiwa Samurai braid. It is round so it does not dig into the line on the spool. Also it is the smoothest line you will ever use. I use to use power pro but after trying Samurai braid I never looked back.

I use 65 lb Stren Super Braid for flippin in heavy cover. The reels I use are Revo S, and Revo SX. I've never had any problems.

Make sure you spool that braid so it is pretty snug on the spool. If it is fluffy under the first layer you might have some digging problems.

Let me tell you how to fix this issue. It doesnt matter what type reel you have - there is a trick. Spool your reeel like you normally would. THEN tie the end of your line to your trailer hitch. Walk back and un-spool all of your line. THEN tighten your drag ALL the way down and crank yourself to your trailer hitch. THis gets all the line SNUGG and keeps braid issues to a minumum!! Good Luck
