Trim swith at shift lever?

Can some one help me with HOW THE HECK the shift lever comes apart to replace the trim switch. The schematic I found on Yamaha shows a screw on the bottom of the handle - I found no screws holding the handle together anywhere. I have the part number for the switch, but I want to know how to get it out before I order one. It's a 2000 Yamaha shift handle for a 225HP, 3.1L if it makes any difference. Thanks in advance.

Take the handle off the boat.
Take the screw out and remove the red part of the handle.
Look up under the gray part. Remove that screw.
