    lower unit oil question

Got to go to a tournament out of town tomorrow and checked my lower unit oil only to find out that it was low. I read my owners manual and it said to use "hypoid" gear oil SAE 90. The only thing I could find tonight was quicksilver premium gear oil (no viscosity listed). I drained the LU and filled with this. My question is will it be OK to use this for the long haul, or should I drain and refill with Yamaha or something else after I get back? Appreciate some advice, lower units are pretty expensive.

Re: lower unit oil question (fishin wheeler)

I've been using quicksilver premium in my HPDI for over 100 hrs now. I think a lot of Yamaha guys use it. It's been clean every time I've changed it.
