1999 vmax 225 help

Can some one please tell me what the max rpm on the 225 vmax is for a 1999 model? I have heard everything from 5400 to 6100. I cant find it in owners manual and the dealer said he would get back to me? That makes me glad I don't take my boat to the dealer.

I'm sure the manual would say something like:
OPERATING RANGE: 4500-5500 RPMs

With that being said, if the engine has been taken care of and has had reqular maintenance and internal cleaning, you could prop it to run light to around 5800 RPMs.

I did see that in the manual but seemed low so I thought that was the normal operating range. Thanks guys. It will seem strange to run under 5800 rpm

I have an '03 225 and in cool weather I can hit the limiter (6150) when it's low on fuel (running light). Mind you, I don't run it like that for more than a couple of minutes when I'm out fishing. My fishing spots are close together and my longest runs are MAYBE six minutes long.

I also don't jump in the seat and floor it when the engine has sat for a little while and cooled down. I take it easy for a minute or two before opening it up.
