Lake Barkley??

Our bass club is having a tournament on Lake Barkley April 9-10. We are taking off from Devils elbow. I have never fished Barkley can u guys give me a idea on what to expect the fishing to be like and if it would be worth the run over to Ky or stay on Barkley? not really looking for spots but just an idea of what the fish maybe doing that time of year. Thanks

I would think that between Little River and Eddy Creek you could find good fish. Some of those bays on the LBL side in that area of Barkley can be pretty darn good too...lots of stumps still around in those bays. A lot of it will be finding the kind of water color that you like, and there should be quite a variety there all pretty close.

I would save myself the run and stay on Barkley.....plenty of great fishing to be found within a short distance!

No way would I make the run. Mid Barkley in April is my favorite place to be. Now if it were earlier in the year, or even a month later, I would consider moving a little, but I would stay pretty close to where you launch.

Pretty long run from Devils Elbow to Ky Lake ! About 25 miles or so each way of wasted fishing time. AND the lake can get pretty rough in a hurry in early April.

Plenty of good fishing with-in a mile or so of where you put in !!!!!!!!!!!!

Wayne, are you laughing because you know I suck equally on both lakes, and choose not to waste gas to catch just as few fish on Barkley as Ky??
