trying to plan a trip to KY lake

right now we are thinking the last weekend of August, or labor day weekend. would this be a good time? i am assuming fish would still be on ledges. Would that be a busy time to go? any input would be great. lodging, eating...etc.Thanks!

Labor Day Weekend? Are you serious? If you're just going to play, swim, ski, etc. then go for it. Labor Day Weekend is the blow out weekend for boaters, with cruisers out in full force! The lake is basically a gigantic wave pool that weekend!

If you're planning to fish, I think I'd hold out until after Labor Day Weekend.......plus, local lodging costs drop considerably after Labor Day Weekend. That's something to think about.

Good choice.....you really don't want to be out there on Labor Day weekend trying to fish. ditto the ledge fish in mid Sept

We stay home on holidays. Not that I don't stay home a lot lately, but won't go out on holidays. Plus a lot of fisherman have put the boat up and start deer hunting. The lake is pretty much wide open after labor day.
