2006 Optimax 150 DFI oil tank

I purchased the motor without the oil tank and I am trying to confirm the proper remote oil tank part # for my motor. Any help with a part number or the part please let me know. Thanks in advance. Cheers

Re: 2006 Optimax 150 DFI oil tank (Laker272)

Any of the V-6 series remote oil tanks will suit your needs (and there are NUMEROUS different tanks, some with- some without an oil level sender for Smartcraft).

8742A22 is perhaps the least expensive version.

I have one more question for you. If I get a tank that doesn't have the low oil sending unit built in, is there anything I need to do to the wiring harness so it doesn't set a low oil alarm off? Also will it effect any other systems? I don't have the smartcraft gauges. Thanks again

    Re: (Laker272)

No action necessary- all setup for the "Remote Oil Tank Level Monitoring" is in the Smartcraft Instrument.

If you DID have a Smartcraft Instrument, you would simply ensure that the Tank 2 (oil level) was set to "not installed".

A sensor CAN be added at a later date, if you so desire.
