    Is this chine walk?

When I am up on plane and almost to wot, the back of the boat starts rocking back and forth. When the left side starts coming up I give a small steer to the left, but it seems to only make it worse. I think that this is what's considered chining, but apparently my timing is off on making the corrections. This newbie needs your help.

If the left side rises you need to steer to the right to correct it. It may seem hard to make yourself do it but you've got to counter-react whichever side comes up at speed.

thanks liljp, I knew I was wrong somewhere just didn't know where. In my head(that lonely place) it seemed I needed to steer towards the side that was coming up.

You are right If the left side come up you do need to steer to the left.........steering to the right would only take you back off the pad and lose speed. Steer to the left and balance on the pad and there is more speed.....

Find someone who KNOWS how to drive a boat. I have a boat you have to drive and I watched video and listened to people tell me how to drive and I guess I am hard headed but my boat owned me. I had a guy who can drive show me and I am more comfortable with my boat. First make sure your boat is set up correctly. I too tried the left steer thing and it never worked, because I was to gentle. With myboat it is hard jerks on the wheel if you have hydraulic steering. But I am not the guy to listen too, I am just trying to give a little advise. Get someone who knows how to drive to help you.
