    New Ignition Key

I have recently bought a 94 Skeeter ZX 150 with a 94 150 Mariner Mag III and when I purchased the boat it only came with one key, does anyone know how I can get another key? I went to Home Depot and they said that they didn't make boat keys and does anyone have an idea of how much it will cost me?

    Thanks

Go to a Mercury dealer, they should have the key. Bring your existing with you, there is a number on it. Not very many different keys. I had a '84 40hp mariner, now I have a '01 150hp merc, and guess what, they use the same key!

If I remember correctly it is stamped on the key. I didnt have a key at all when I purchased my boat and my local merc dealer took out his master set of keys (I think there may only be 6 or so) and tried them until one worked. Very simple. Then I purchased 4 sets of that number key.

Sounds kind of like compartment locks......If you lose your key, just ask your buddy if you can borrow his.

A locksmith should have the blank and can cut a key from your original.

Going to a Mercury dealer is your best bet, take your key with you if it has no number on it. I had a 200EFI at one time, went to a Merc dealer, they fixed me up, and would you believe it, they had no Merc keys like I needed, but found a Yamaha key that worked fine.
