I was asked to post this in this site:
I was reading how well BBS works and made a post that I must be the only person who uses a spray of 50% water to 50% white vinegar. This has been my boat cleaner for 10 years and I have not found anything better. I'm truly a nut when it comes to the finish of my boat. I don't mean to pat myself on the back but here is my routine. I wax the boat twice a month with a gel wax and a low vibrating hand waxer as well as a cloth for the hard to reach areas. I then spray down after I get out of the water with the vinegar and water combo. This removes all of the hard water spots as well as nasty scum line and I fish nasty water. This combo does not eat at the wax. You might get a bit of a smell when applying but it goes away soon or you can add lemon juice to offset the smell of the vinegar. When I really want he to shine I will use the vinegar combo and then follow with a light coat of the turtle wax spray.
I have asked for a sample of the BBS to be sent to me to try. I will post if it is a better product then what I use.
I have tried so many boat and marina products only to throw them away for the system I just described. By the way the wax that I use twice a month has a UV protected to protect against fading.
