I used contact cement ant it made life much easier for things like this. Reason why is when the carpet touches the deck WHAMO they are together! I used a large phillips screwdriver and followed the contours of the deck all the way around. The took my carpet knife and cut at a 45* angle into the corner all the way around. Always make sure you have a shap knife blade. I'll see if I can find where I read that....they explain it a little better than I did.

i see the post for cuts for lids but nothing showing for the deck flange for lids, you can't cut it that way because you are pushing the carpet down. help please

I think you are talking about the recesses in the deck where the lids go into. You would make a single cut coming out from the corner at a 45. This leaves a void that you would fill in with a scrap piece of carpet from what I understand. Haven't made it that far yet on my carpet job. Maybe by the weekend.![]()
