    Question on gel coat

I have an Astro s 20 dc and I had to remove the clear coat that was applied on the boat. I noticed that I was starting to remove the "red" color that was over the silver undercoat. I did get all of the clear coat off {with laq thinner} and used a 3m product that was a wax and rubbing compound mix and it looked great for about six months. Now it is fadded and rough to the hand. What is the next step? Do I take it to a pro or just find a boat wrap of some kind and go from there? It is a "tool" for me to fish from and is not in the best shape, so not sure I want to spend alot of cash to correct. If the boat wrap is the way to go, does anyone have a good supplier?
    Thanks ahead of time.

Re: Question on gel coat (vzar2112)

I have heard some good stories on Imron clear paint, that might be the way to go, I am not sure but I think it is a two part epoxy paint. Post some pics.

Re: Question on gel coat (mefforda)

I shot a 16' tide craft with Imron a few years ago for a friend of mine. Boat looked great, shinned like new and it still looks great. We got a little over spray on the black plastic trim but over all it looked realy nice. It is pretty expensive he paid $170 a quart. But a quart would have done 4 of those little boats. Dont spray more than 2 coats or it will look a little dull and watch the over spray.
