I have a 1994 ZX 175 skeeter an I just bought a new hummingbird 798ci HD SI an I'm having trouble figuring out the best place to mount the transducer. It has a 6 inch hi-jacker plate on a marinar 175... If anyone has any feed back on this issue it would be a major help. Thanks guys!!!
I have an 898 and mounted my transducer on the lower right side of the jack plate. It is out of water when on plane so I don't have to worry about damaging it. I use a shoot thru hull transducer in the bilge for depth readings when on plane. Transducer Shield and Saver makes a bracket for mounting these type of units on the jackplate. Scap is very knowledgeable and helpful. Hope this helps.
