    Wilson lake

Me and my son went down to Wilson sunday. Man was it pretty out. Got a little windy late but was nice. Main lake was still cold 43-45 degrees but creek was little warmer 48-50 degrees. Did manage to catch two keepers on cranks but that was all. Did some looking around. Mainly fished upper end by safety. Anybody else been doing any good. What about lower end toward fleet??

    Re: Wilson lake (FISH TICK)

Jody, Last year my partner and I had 27lbs in our Fishers of Men tourney this date to the year, we were rolling 1oz willow leaf blades at the dam in the tail races. He went Sunday and didnt get s sniff all day. That lake is very fickle this time of year. BAIT and FOM both have T's out of Safety this weekend and I think a ABA as well. It will be won at the dam in the edge of the eddy's with BIG blades, but its tough fishing. Current has to be just right. Thx for the report.

Yep Kerry I think your right about the dam, I just don't feel comfortable fishing up there. I'm going to have to go with some of ya'll one day so you can show me how its done up there.
I did talk to some people Sunday and they did say the same about the dam area, no bites. I personnally hope it stay tuff for this weekend. Going to donate to someone in the BAIT tournament. Going to be a mess at Safety with all those tournaments!!

Yeah, just wait till you see how many boats will be packed at the dam and at the bridge in Town Creek LOL. Town creek will look like a boat show. Good luck in the BAIT First year in 7yrs I havent fished the FOM trail, fishing its legacy this year with 11yr old daughter so will be much more rewarding from my standpoint with her. I think we kick off there in 2 or 3 weeks.

Let us know how it turns out and Godd Luck!

Well it was a mess at the ramp as predicted The BAIT had 78 boats and I don't know what Fishers of Men had but the parking lot was full. Took 23lb all smallmouth to win BAIT with 13lb and change coming in 10th. We had 12.46lb so I was pleased with (I believe) a top 15 place out of 78 boats. Caught ours on cranks and jigs on lower end. Some talk said big sack came from lower end also?? If we could get just one good bite, we would have had a check. Just glad the fish as biting a little.

My son and I went out on Wilson for a few hours Saturday afternoon and every creek you went in to had about a dozen boats in it!! The wind was terrible.
