Got my new mold in this week. The mold will accept the Mustad 60 degree EWG hook all the way up to a 6/0 hook.

Nice work... I don't like the EWG hooks on anything. Give me the round bend everytime.

Cheaper to keep a kid in tourney fishing than paying attorneys to keep them out of jail !!
Where did you purchase the mold???
Nice looking jig by the way!![]()

I love the looks of that jig (except for the line tie). My personal preference is for the line tie to b in line (going the same directions) with the hook point. In my opinion you get snagged less and you get a better hook set.
I would fish those any day though.

The mold I bought will allow for the hooks to be in-line of flat eye. I agree I think you get hung up less but I have quite of few guys that buy them from me this way.[
Years ago, I had a talk with a pro & lure designer & asked him about the flat vs inline jig eye thing. He told me the "flat eye advantage" was bunk & simply marketing strategy to get people to buy from the large manuf. who had access to flat eye hooks instead of the small jobbers who had only the inline eye hooks to use. He also claimed that jighead design (shape, line tie placement, overall balance etc) was 1000x more important than the line tie orientation regarding how well a jig fished & caught fish. Seems to make sense as the head is much larger than the line tie & should be the main influence as a jig comes through cover.
I do know that with an inline eye, you can cinch a palomar knot down on the bottom of the eye so the line points to the bottom of the head, you can tighten up & release line pressure to make a jig rock back & forth in place, and weeds dont get wrapped around the eye as easily.![]()
I also think it's bunk. Who wants their line to hit the bottom/rocks/gravel/sand/stumps first jig fishing anyway. Wonder why you break off so many fish? Thats the main reason for me liking the reg eye better.
I'm looking for a light wire, long shank, round bend reg eye 60* hook in black nickle..

What is the mold number? And where did you get it?
BTW those look good to meThanks
I don't have the mold number but if you go to barlowstackle.com under new products you will find the hooks there. The mold is in the lure making section.
Tagg007 are you selling any football heads?
looking for 3/4 oz painted. Thanks price per 100? e-mail: nygglover@yahoo.com
What kind of paint is that & how do you do the two tone??
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I use powder coat (pro-tec) paints. to do a two tone you dip it into the base coat first and then the secondary coat next.
Where did you get the EWG hooks and what is the hook's number. I've been looking for those hooks and cannot find them.
Thanks in advance,
Eddie
Where can you get one of these molds
