    Painting lead?

I need to paint some jigheads and was wondering what to use? Can I use just a regular enamel or is there someting better?

    Thanks

Mike, I have recently used jigs that were painted with Zorro Powder Paint. This stuff was amazing, all day throwing a 7/16 ounce jig on Dale Hollow and the paint never chipped!! It also comes in a pumpkin/pepper color that looks awesome. I'm pretty sure Daniel has some of them now if you want to see them. The jigs are Eiron Jigs made by Matt Eisenbacher back in Missouri.

I agree the powder stuff is easy and good stuff. Otherwise use vinyl paint. It is specifically for adheshion to lead. I still use it on my home made spinner baits and jigs.

Powder paint is the only way to go. I picked up a $5.00 toaster oven at a garage sasale and us it to bake the paint. One big tip is to extend the baking time for a much harder finish, I usually bake my on low for a couple of hours. If you are using jigs with plastic weed guards, go get some small dowell rod , cut to lenght and drill the centers, place over the guards and bake.
