    Fuel system cleaner

I have searched BBC for a post that had a formula of gas, seafoam, quikclean, etc. It was mixed in a small gas tank & the engine was run on it to decarb it & clean carbs as well as the rest of fuel system. I have a 95 Johnson Faststrike that doesn't idle very well & I wanted to see if this worked before carbs got rebuilt. I have run BRP Engine Tuner thru it & changed the plugs & fuel filter. Anyone remember this post? Thanks

Which post your's about the idle issues or Don Weed's post on the Merc boards about his "cocktail" for cleaning the innards?

I hadn't post anything about my idle issues yet. So I guess it was the Don Weed post. I've searched for it but haven't found it yet it.

Check the Merc boards and search there. Don has quite the cocktail it will cure it or kill it. J/K is should work.

    Re: Fuel system cleaner (ChampioNman)

Thank you! I found his cocktail for regular maintenance fill ups but nothing on what I'm looking for. It seems like it was a gal of gas, 1 can 16oz of seafoam, 2oz of something else & 1 oz of another. It was run thru the outboards in 15 min intervals.

That would be his cocktail. He uses a portable tank and hooks it to the motor.

Here is the formula, 3/4 gal of gasoline and one 16oz can of SeaFoam mixed in small portable tank, add 3oz of oil if you premix.Hook the tank to the engine start and run for 15 minutes at the dock or cruising around keep it under 2500 RPM's turn off engine and let sit 15 minutes then repeat the process. do this up to three times or until it quits smoking on startup.

Thanks, Danrude! I was beginning to think I had lost what little mind I have left!
