Get ready for a LOT of opinions, none of which agree. There is no best boat for everyone. The best advice I have is to get in a bunch and see what fits you, the guy paying for it. The rest our our opinions are irrelevant.

They are not as different as everyone would like to think.
Whatever boat the guy who answers hasEnjoy the next 10 pages of that with just a couple guys like Adchunts chiming in with some actual common sense that will get immediately overlooked.
Oh and Skeeter is the best of course.

The one that has been taken care of. All will last as long as you properly maintain them. Never abuse them.
There isn't one.
You sure can but their is tradeoffs, a 21 footer is going to handle big water better than an 18 foot aluminum, but the aluminum will be able to get into places that the 21 footer can't. Then there is the issues of price, fuel consumption, deck space, boat layout, hull design, quality, etc.
