Hey guys, my club will be coming up to fish one of our monthly T's @ West Point in 2 weeks. Where is a good hotel that has plenty of boat parking and charging areas for us to stay at. We will have around 20 boats. For that matter our gread T-D hasn't even chosen a ramp to put in at.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Oh yeah, keep in mind the only guys in our club to have ever been there are of retirement age and was well many moons ago since they were there!!
My first choice would be Highland Marina if they have anything available. It is the perfectplace to stay, and should be inexpensive as well if you guys split up the rooms.
The cabins all have heat/ac and full kitchens, plus two or three bedrooms and cable tv. They also have outdoor grills etc. The area also has security with a locked and guarded gate, plus a private ramp and docks to use. There is a restaraunt and store plus good bait and tackle store on premises as well, plus you can use their stage for weigh in!
If you want to stay at hotels, there are several new ones close by in La Grange. Jamison Inn is just off I 85 and next to the Race Track 24 hour gas station and across street from Waffle House.
Contact the Troup Co Chamber of Commerce and they will hook you up with a complete list of places plus dining etc, and you should be able to get a good rate for a group that size as well. Just have to negotiate the price.
Oh yeah...bring along crankbaits, rat-l-traps and c-rigged lizards
