Lower unit gear oil - synthetic?

I want to change my lower unit gear oil...this LU is a 2007 model on a 2001 Fitch 200HP and currently has the traditional oil in it. I was thinking of putting synthetic as a replacement. I would like your thoughts as to what oil to use. Also, if you wouldn't use synthetic (why) and what would you use (why). Thanks, Bob

I use only BRP HPF XR for all of my customers and my own gear cases. Good enough for the E-tec good enough for me. I've heard of others using a purple lube but I can't say I know anything about it.

There is a fine line between \"FISHING\" and just standing in the boat going through the motions!!!
