hey everybody this may be a dumb question but I have to ask. I have a 2000 ficht 225 and I would like to add a tilt gauge. my question is how hard is this to do and do you have any suggestions for brand or type of gauge. thanks

Hi Mike and welcome to the boards! It is an easy process. If you have a knock out on your dash then simply pop it out and install the gauge and hook up the wiring, it should be around the control box and will be a pig tail. As for gauge selection, most manufacturers make them Teleflex, Faria, OMC etc. If you don't have a knock out on your boat then you will have to cut a hole for the gauge, you will need a 2 1/8" hole to do the deed. Select the spot you want it on and use 2 layers of masking tape to cover the area to prevent splintering of the fiberglass.
thanks ChampioNman, I do have a knock out in the dash so no problem there but the control box and pig tail ? what should I be looking for?

There should be a wiring harness laying around inside your gunwhale near the control box woth 3 wires, white wire with a tan trace, brown w/black trace and purple those are for the gauge.

Here's an OMC drawing of the wiring harness from 1996 to present.
