HDS in console

I have a 2004 Tr-21X. Have an HDS 8 RAM mounted and a 7 mounted at the bow. I would like to buy a new Gen 2 8 and put it at the console and move the current 8 to the bow. I would like to mount the HDS 7 in the dash, network off the in-hull transducer and use it just for 2D sonar. I currently have the black Triton plate with a hole in it for a Smartcraft system monitor so I'll have to find somewhere to mount the monitor but will the HDS 7 fit in the dash hole as is or with minimal trimming?

Yes the HDS-7 will fit in the dash. I have a lcx28c mounted there now which is compareable in size. I have an 06 tr-21x and I think the dashes are the same.

The seven fits easily into the dash, I just put one in my 04 TR21X over the Christmas holiday.

Great photos Mark. I can't wait to do this myself. Just one other question. Are the screws that hold the unit in the dash, through bolts or self tapping screws and don they come with the unit? Also how does the bezel come off. Thanks for the assistance!

Screws come with unit but I bought SS bolts and nylok nuts to fit in the hole and through the dash and console.

Bezel comes off by gently popping the bottom corners off first, you'll see the little slots there to pry open. Bezel is doublesided taped on and needs to be gently separated, not that hard to do just go easy.
