Good load/topend prop for Stroker 250HPDI?

Buddy is running this with a hydro plate and a Mirage and turns 5800-5900+ but has never seen better than 84.I guessed he could tourny prop it and run 90,what you guys suggest he run prop wise and is it reasonalbe to maintain a decent hole shot and hit 90ish?Setback is about 10"

leave the prop and get the lower unit mod done by hydrotec. i think it gained 5-6 mph on a stock 250 on a stroker.

A 3 blade TXP will give you a lot more speed that the Mirage. I would think in a 30 or 31. The lower unit mod is a must for a stroker to really run some good numbers.

Use the Mirage as a back up prop only !!! Not the prop for the Stroker.

Hydro Tec gearcase mods on a stock 250 hpdi gained almost 6mph. Ought to consider the Fatshaft mod and be done

Hey Paulie, I really should have been more clear with my post. The question was for a "good load/topend prop".

IMO and based on my limited experience with the Mirage, there are better props which meet this requirement on the Stroker.....................

The Mirage was fine on my application, just not the first choice for top end or a load.

Thx guys,I searched the archives looking for a similar setup to give him some info but didn't find anything as far as specific props/performance.What's involved with the gearcase mods? He is running a performance Yammy case w/low water & factory cone.I don't know what gears and doubt he does either.

the gear case mod relocates the pickups from side to bottom some shaping and torque tab......the prop shaft should be upgraded to the fat shaft other wise he will be bying a prop shaft and a new prop....the small shaft tends to break esp in surfacing aplications like a stroker....money well spent

Paul: Not that I've run a HPDI 250 and that case is much different that a Sportsmaster but I really like the Performer 4 blade B/C for a fishing prop. Very good hole shot and carries weight at speed very well for me

Re: Good load/topend prop for Stroker 250HPDI? (STROKEDYAMAHA)

The fastest prop that I ran with the Titus yamaha case was a TXP. The slip of the performers were up around 20% Best run was 92ish and on the limiter hard. I was at Guntersville Al. with 95 deg.
The worked 32 TXP 3 blade would run 96 with same load and weather conditions.
