    javelin trailer help?

i posted in the trailers forum but thought i would post here to.
i have a 94 javelin tandem trailer with brakes on one axle. i am wanting to replace everything, brakes, brearings, seals, buddies, wheel cylinders etc. to get my brakes working and thought i might as well do the bearings and buddies while doing the brakes. anyone with a similar trailer done this? need help on which parts to buy. i have heard that a 10" brake kit is the same and wold work no matter what manufacturer but wanted to make sure before i go out and buy parts.

Before I would just replace all that, I would figure out why the brakes aren't working now. Could be a bad master cyl, line, wheel cyl. If I was to replace all that, I would convert it to disc brakes.

You have 1 3/8 & 1 1/16 bearings w/ a 1.718 ID seal. I would upgrade to discs for the same money or even a kit w/ a swing away tongue if yours doesn't have it. I have a single axle trailer & I want to add brakes & a swing away to it. When I do, it will be disc brakes.

i would like to switch to disc, but they say the actuator has to be replaced due to some reverse check valve and mine is welded on. not sure what it would do if i didnt change it out.

Thanks for the info on the bearings.

The swingaway tongue kit can be bolted or welded back on.

    No problem.
