    Livewell Pump Out for 285pxl

I know i have seen this on here before but can't seem to find it. Can someone let me know how this is acheived. I am tired of putting my weigh-in bag by the drain plug to fill it. I would like to have a pump out system that would pump out my livewell, to collect the water out of the same hole that my bilge pump shoots out water. Any and all help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Re: Livewell Pump Out for 285pxl (threeriversmarine)

Here is what I did. I purchased the pull out valve from flo-rite and interchanged with the one on the live well. I then bought a piece of tube but did not drill the hole in the side of the boat. Instead, I just leave the hose laying in the bilge area. This allows me to hang the bag on the cleat and place the hose into the bag. Hands free filling, and while it is filling, I begin filling with fish.

Justin, I used a separate thru hull fitting that has Livewell pump out clearly marked on it. I thought long and hard if I really wanted to drill a hole in the boat until I saw one day a guy accidentially fill his weigh in bag with bildge water only to have his catch die before he got to the scales! Your bildge lines have oil/ fuel etc... in them and you do not want that in your weigh in bag. I used flowrite fittings...

I looked at the Flow-rite product and it seems pretty nice and convient.

How is this going to affect my valve switch by the steering column? Is it still going to work like it did before??

I got it figured out now. I went to there site and downloaded the installation manual. Thanks guys I appreciate the help. $25 dollars for the kit is not bad plus $8 dollars in hose. I am not found of drilling in my boat, but i am going to do it.

    Thanks

I've been using 3/4" automotive heater hose. It is very durable and very easy to work with. makes the best livewell hose, imo. I just got through doing two old stratos boats with the flo rite system. You don't need to use your bilge hoses though!

When you cut a hole through your boat make sure you tape off the spot where you are cutting the hole with masking tape. You then run the drill in reverse until you get through the gel coat. If your drill is in forward it will chip the gel coat when it catches.

My boat is still on vacation in a nice heated garage doing nothing. The lakes need to dethaw so she can get back to work. LOL

I found it very simple to.convert to the pump outs I did.them today in like a half hour. Just don't think to hard when cutting the holes or it will never get done.
