I can't help you with 8 or 10. I just put a manual plate on my boat and wish I would have put a hydraulic plate on. I will never buy another manual plate.
You might get a better response in the setups forum.
I have a 1999 201 and I was told that a 8" was the best for my hull. Something about the water turbulance behind the boat and every hull has an optimum spot.
Bigger is not always better.
go with an 8 and you can always get 2 in spacers and try if it helps leave them on if not take them off and get a hyd. plate![]()
