floor cut out

sorry guys you have probaly heard this before but i have a 295 pxl with no leccy foot well ,i have one ready to install,just when i pulled the front sounder out there was a small fibreglass upstand about 4 inces deep and 9inches back fom the edge of the carpet i presume this is just a strenghtener and can be cut through i have heard of other guys doing it ,just wanted to make sure before i cut thanks

I also have a 295 and I did not cut through that piece you are talking. I cut right up to it and went back from there although it would have been nice to have those few additional inches going forward. I do not know what would happen if you cut through it because I am not exactly sure what its function is.
