Anyone ran one with a 150 VMAX HPDI or ETEC 150HO? Much difference in performance? I would think the VMAX with its 2.0 ratio would be a little better for yanking skiiers/tubers.

I don't sell many with the HPDI......mostly carb 150 Yammies for the dolar factor or 150 4 stroke Yammies. This is a boat the 4 stroke does a very good job on.
The 150 ETEC's have been good...but we don't sell them with HO's...just standard ETEC 150's.
Gas and speed wise.....either the HPDI or ETEC,,,,,or 150 Opti.....all are good!
I've got one on the way with a 150 Optimax. It was a good value, and you can get a 5 year warranty on the Opti right now.

We sell less of the Etec in the 150 because of the price. It's a great motor, but I think the Yam is stronger on the low end. Any of the three are good motors though.
I have a 2005 486SF with the Yamaha F150 four stroke and love the heck out of this boat. Not the fastest, but I can pull tubes and ride around all day and still take home a bunch of gas. Agree with Todd -- the F150 does a very good job on this hull.
