Re: Jason, why a 4 day work week (bigfish)

    Yep that's it.

The reason for the four day work week is strictly based off of the dollars that are being saved. They are building the same number of boats as they've always done at the plant. They have just made some process changes and gotten better at a few things that are allowing them to build the same number of boats in a shorter amount of time. As someone else said, the fewer times you have to turn all of the lights and machinery on and off, the better off you are. The employees were fine with it.

Sales are very strong and I was told that by mid-late March they'll have to be back on five days to keep up.

I will also add that when I asked, the person I talked to started laughing and said that I had obviously been on the Internet. They said they get a kick out of reading what some people post on these message boards when all they'd have to do is call and ask.

Re: Jason, why a 4 day work week (1niceStratos)

You mean to tell me Stratos isn't laying off all of it's employees, stopping building boats like they have for years, cutting off all ties in the bass fishing market, and moving their facilities all to mexico where they will build canoes???????? I thought that it was etched in stone based on the post that other guy made... I mean he knew a guy that knew a guy that was related to a third cousin's brothers momma, who's sisters best friend built boats for them. This was all happening because Ranger decided that Stratos was to was stealing thier sales and the executives at ranger thought that eliminating a large boat line from their company would increase profits??? Sometimes the things I read people type make me want to reach through the monitor and punch them for their stupidity.......

Re: Jason, why a 4 day work week (EJP)

Maybe you didn't read what I said. My brother does live in Murfreesboro, and his next door neighbor does work at Stratos. He is the one that told me about the 4 day work week, which as even Jason mentioned is not BS. I am not bashing the company, as I have posted before, I have had 4 Stratos boats, all of which were great boats. I do not at this time own a boat, and am not sure what I will buy next, I was just asking about the 4 day week. He is one of the employees that is not thrilled to have some hours cut, as he has 2 kids to raise and a cut in pay is not the best thing for him.

Re: Jason, why a 4 day work week (jig stroker)

Well i guess this is what puzzles me...You posting what you did could potentially cost Stratos Boat sales,I doubt it,but it could turn someone who doesnt know any better off buying one...and in turn put your 'Neighbor" to 0 hours a week

Im sure they gave him an reason and didnt just say sorry bud your working 4 days a week and dont ask why or go post it on a Stratos board and someone will tell you why your only working 4 days a week

And trying to come down on you..But thats kinda how i see it

EJP, maybe you need to reach through your own monitor?
If you're gonna bash someone, at least know what they said, and why they said it.

I was kinda riding the idea JerryT posted about, I just do it on a differnt level.... I post weird or negative comments on a public forum about companies that deserve it, not good ones. There also has been atleast one or two posts a week for the last few months regarding Stratos's stability. When people posts these questions it only makes them look bad to the untrained eye.

Re: Jason, why a 4 day work week (EJP)

I agree with both points of view as I read and re-read the previous posts and comments...... After the fiasco a few years back with OMC ---I wish I had heard a little gossip or insider news and perhaps I may have bought another boat and motor or at least not have been BLIND-SIDED..... I don't regret buying either my current Stratos or the 150 Ficht that came on it...Both have served me well mechanically ---- I still got the Stratos and just recently upgraded motors ---- You'd be a fool not to if you are in the market for a new motor especially with the 7-year warranty they come with..... Bottom line --- this type of discussion is what makes the BBC "THE" best boat and fishing forum on the internet ----- we can all agree to disagree ---UNLIKE the other website that got a little free publicity just recently in Bassmaster's magazine....... At least here, folks on the BBC may disagree with your comments but they don't bash you personally or talk trash about your mamma

That's because there are a LOT of members on the BBC from TN. Most of you guys don't know who your momma's are. It might be your sister, aunt, cousin, etc.

There's also a LOT of members on the BBC from TN that won't mind the drive through the red-clay state of Alabama and kick puck ass either...

I only live about 1/2 mile from the state line, so you wouldn't have to drive through too much red clay. Or you can just wait for me to drive up and get my new boat in about a week.
