    New Lower Unit

    Boat in shop getting a new lower unit installed. What would be the very best fluid to run?

    Evinrude HPF Pro IMHO.

    What motor you replacing it on?

    It's going on a 250. Wonder what most of the people racing are runing? Read something about Royal Purple I believe. Is this synthetic? Was thinking it would be better to run synthetic.

    Tom, Eddie Pope aka Gearcaseman likes the royal purple. If I'm not mistaken the HPF Pro is BRP's synthetic.

    Yes, I believe the Evinrude HPF PRO is synthetic.

    I'll defer to the gurus, but I believe thats what they put in the ETECs.
