    1992 ss140 with 1991 Suzuki 140 on the back

I have a couple of questions. I have had the boat for a little over a year. It just seems like I am not getting the speeds that I should be getting. I do not have a jackplate which I should help and I also dont think I have the right prop on the boat. and from what I can tell the motor is not set right. So I was just wondering what size prop and jackplate this little boat should have. Thanks for yawls help.

What prop is on there now? What speeds are you seeing? What RPM? What's the propshaft to pad height? There's not enough info to make a recommendation.

I think it is 13p and turning like 4700 at WOT and I think top speed was like 41 on GPS

Looks like your are not getting enough rpms. You need to know the max operating rpms for that motor. The motor may not be performing properly or the boat is loaded to heavy or possibly water logged. Are you trimming up once the boat is up on plain?

Dude, there is no way in HELL that you are running a 13p prop on that motor! I run a 13p on my 25hp merc. I have a 200 merc with 2 diff 26p props, I had a 115 yammi on a skeeter sx176 with a 21p! You really need to find out exactly what prop you got cause somethin aint right. That ss140 is a very light hull and should be in the upper 50mph range with that motor, I ran 50+loaded with a 115. Something is wrong somewhere, get a Compression test, spark test, and a 23p Tempest Plus, and a 6inJackplate. I think that is what you need, good luck

Yeah on the 23 prop. I have a 23 stilletto on my SS140 with 135 Merc, turning 5800 RPMs. No Jack plate.
