    Backing into the wind?

Just a thought about Skeeter's design. Doesn't the angle of the sponsons actually dig in deeper in the water while backing into the waves. We all have launched at wind blown ramps with waves coming straight in and taken on some water while unloading or backing out of a wind blown tight spot. Have test ridden & driven a Skeeter and know that the backwash from full forward speed to stop is minimal, if at all. 99% sure my next boat will be a Skeeter ZX 200, like I said this is just a thought.

    Thanks

I think every boat brand will take on water when backing into the wind (at least every boat brand that I have owned has done this).

I do know that a SKEETER is almost impossible to backup at anytime, and I think it is due to the ponsons. But they go forward better than any other brand. DUH

I think it is also this design that makes water come over the back easily when clearing the prop.

Hell, any boat will get water over the back when backing up into wind blown waves.

Don't forget those sponsoons allow for a full width transom from side to side and top to bottom. Providing more strength. Plus no splashwell that are very prone to stress cracks because of all of the sharp turns and angles.
