I thought the largest Lowrance you could fit into the console was an HDS 8. Someone said they saw one of the tour guys with a 10 in there.
I don't want to do any custom work. What are the largest electronics that will fit into the console and bow flush on a 2012 z520. Done with the Ram mounts.

I have seen two guys with 10s in the dash but they were custom installs and I could not get good pictures. They are Tak Omari and Randle Tharp. I'd like to see an upclose as well.
I've got a friend in AL that knows Tak. Maybe he can find out thanks. If I get the info, I will pass it along.

I was looking through the Lowrance message boards to get some ideas on a HDS install and saw Marc Marcantonio's Z20. He didn't feel like the RAM would support the larger units and created an alternative mount. I dig it.

I'm not sure how the Z520 console is like, but perhaps you can craft something similar that can secure your HDS 10 more securely?
Following Marc's lead, here is my install which was recently completed on my Z21.
That is very clean, but I am hoping to get them flush. I'm not very careful when fishing or if I spear a wave. I saw an 1198 go off the boat last year from a wave...thankfully it wasn't mine.

There is no way to flush mount a HDS10 in that dash, i did custome make a bracket to screw one into place in the console, it stuck out about 1.5 inches but i had a lot of viberation when running the boat especially in rough water, didn't like it so i put it on a ram mount. I cut the brackets off each end of the u bracket that holds a 10 in place, bolted those to the console plate on each side and just screwed down the HDS10 like u usually do with the knobs on each side, just way to much viberation, for me any way.
