    What jackplate for a 519VS

I have a 97 519vs that I believe needs a jackplate. I have heard, but dont know is that ranger says not to put over a 6" plate on this boat. I would love a hydraulic plate, but funds say a manual. Because of that I was thinking of getting a bobs convertable, the one that you can buy later the hydraulic conversion kit and turn the manual into a hydraulic. Is it any good? Is a hydraulic really so much better?

6" plate max is what Ranger says.......................Go with a good Hydro or Manual 6" plate. I would stay away from the convertable Sir.........................RR

I had a 98 519svs and it had a 6inch bobs hydraulic plate. If you can swing it get the hydraulic, i wouldnt own a boat without one.

I have a 4" Bobs/hydraulic on my 519 and yes, if you can swing it hydro is the way to go if you have a need to change the height due to tough to reach fishing spots.

I just bought a 6" Bobs to replace my '99 CMC. I was thinking of going to an 8" but the Tech at Bobs called me back and said he wouldn't recommend anything other than the 6" on my 519VS.

In my opinion, Bob's doesn't make a product that doesn't have quallity. The purchase that makes you feel right is the one for you..............................RR

cool, thanks. I will probably buy the 6"versa jac for around $400 and then later this year or next year for $600 I can add the hydraulics to it to make it fully hydraulic
